Details

This Golden Ale kit uses flavours from different English Pale malts coupled with a perfect balance of Challenger and Goldings hop flavour, these provide this golden ale with the bitterness and aroma to make a stunning beer. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale, with caramel aromas, a pleasing toffee apple flavour and a late bitterness. This 3kg kit makes 32 pints of superb golden ale at around 4.7%. The St Peters Golden Ale was in the Independent Top 50 Beers in 2012.

There are five beer kits in the St Peters Brewery range, This Golden Ale compliments the Cream Stout, Honey Porter, India Pale Ale and Ruby Red Ale. This kit has been approved by the head brewer at the Suffolk based brewery. St Peters Brewery is based in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The brewery was built in 1996 and is housed in an attractive range of agricultural buildings adjacent to St Peter's Hall.

Not my usual
More recently I've been sampling the brilliant Dark Rock part grains, however with an imminent house move (at the time of fermenting) I decided to go down the extract route-(to keep the other half a bit more content & to save a little time-for packing) OK so it hasn't the smoothness of a part grain or the involvement of truly brewing your own from scratch, neither does it fill the house with the scent of sparging grains or hops (I think my other half would say that's a good thing ???? but it doesn't disappoint, there really is no shame when brewing from an extract kit like this, follow the instructions & the perfect beer in a months time, a little bit lively but that's no doubt due to over priming. I've tried st Peters before & no doubt I will try again in the future!
