Dual-purpose hop. Primarily used as an aroma hop, UK Cascade has intense but rounded citrus, lychee and floral characteristics and delivers a smoothly integrated bitterness. It delivers the same aroma notes as US Cascade but is slightly less intense.
Developed in Oregon, USA with parentage derived from Fuggle and Serebrianker Cascade was released in 1971 and introduced into British production in 2002.
A tall, late-maturing hop that shows considerable tolerance of powdery and downy mildews although it is susceptible to aphids.
