What is it?
Festival Razorback IPA is a high-quality premium 3kg beer kit. Everything you need to brew a superb IPA is included in the box (except water). Festival Razorback IPA bursts with big hop character, distinct flavours of pine needles and fruit punch, followed by a dry bitter finish and a beautiful fresh nectarine aroma, with underlying tones of pine needles.
A 75g sachet of hop pellets for dry hopping is included so that a stunning hop aroma is achieved. A nylon straining bag is also included, which fit over the end of your syphon sediment trap. This will prevent any hop sludge (referred to as trub) from transferring to bottles or barrels. A 1000g sachet of priming sugar is provided to ensure bottles or barrels are properly conditioned.
Hop bitterness of the Razorback IPA is 5 (on a scale of 1-5). The kit produces a target alcohol content of 5.7% ABV (approx). The colour is pale straw with a white head.
The Festival Razorback IPA kit contains high-quality ingredients and easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Each kit makes 40 pints of premium ale

What is IPA
IPA stands for India Pale Ale. When Britain ruled the Indian Empire there were spoilage issues experienced when trying to ship beer long distances. The higher temperatures, delays, and travel did not suit normal beers. Brewers found that higher strength, higher hop rate ales overcame this problem and thus the IPA was created. The IPAs we enjoy today are characterised by an abundance of hops. Several varieties of hops may be used at different times throughout the brewing process. Hops affect flavour, aroma, and bitterness. IPAs often smell like citrus, pine, or flowers, especially where American hops are used.
Three main styles of IPA have emerged. They are American-style, English-style, and Double (DIPA) or Imperial. IPA's have become extremely popular, especially amongst younger drinkers who prefer cold keg served beer. Modern IPAs tend to have ABVs (alcohol by volume) between 5.5 and 7.5 %. Craft breweries are constantly experimenting and creative sub-styles and twists on the classic, including Black, Hybrid, Wheat, Belgian White IPA, and even Triple IPA (TIPA). Each style and sub-style has its own characteristics. A new beer classification of "Juicy Hazy" has been created to accommodate New England IPA's, which are cloudy and pack a powerful tropical hop punch. This proliferation of styles means there is plenty of variety in what falls under the IPA label today... and great choice and experimentation possibilities for the home craft brewer!

What equipment do you need?
Basic beer making equipment (5g fermenter, airlock, syphon tube with sediment trap, hydrometer, Suresan sanitiser, bottles or barrel). These are available under the starter kit section on this website.
Strongly flavoured foods, including salty dishes, spicy curries, and grilled meats.
We strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit in order to achieve a commercial quality. Pure Brew is a professional beer enhancer. It feeds the yeast with essential nutrients, which supercharge the fermentation and support yeast development (even in limited oxygen conditions). Pure Brew also treats brewing water to eliminate problems caused by Chlorine and Chloramine (which can create a medicinal or as it is sometimes referred to, a "homebrew" taste) The condition of brewing water is critical to achieving optimum results but this important area is often overlooked. By using Pure Brew, you can effectively and easily condition brewing water, and maximise effective fermentation.
The addition of beer finings will improve the final quality of your beer. Finings such as Harris Beer Brite will help your beer to clear quickly and the sediment will be more likely to stay at the bottom of bottles or barrels. If you are using Corny Kegs then it is important to clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Beer Finings will promote a faster and more efficient fall out of sediment and haze particles prior to kegging. Harris Starbrite is a highly effective vegan-friendly beer fining, which is rapidly becoming a firm favourite with home brewers.

- A Punk of a pint
This is probably the best IPA kit on the market at present and right now the competition has never been stronger!
Easy to make and forgiving of temperature, the only frustration is that the yeast takes longer than most to flocculate in the barrel/bottle.
However it is worth the wait and the resultant beer will stun first-timers. Friends have argued with me when I told them that 'I made this'. They simply couldn't believe it.
Recommended, without reservation.
- Second time , spot on.
Second time for this kit and spot on. Lovely IPA.
- Lovely beer
Love this kit, the beer gets better the longer u leave it in the bottle and it brews quite quickly compared to some other IPA kits
I have tried all the premium ipa kits out there. This is the best I've had so far. As good as any pub pint. Brewed to 5.7 %
- Great IPA
I am getting to be a fairly seasoned brewer now and the Festival kits have been faultless, they provide everything you need to produce an excellent beer. The Razorback is a particularly good one and this the second batch i have done.
