Cabernet Sauvignon, a globally recognized red wine grape variety, originates from France. It flourishes in diverse climates and farmers cultivate it in almost every major wine-producing country. Its international recognition grew as Cabernet Sauvignon became prominent in Bordeaux wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is frequently blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Cabernet Sauvignon is famous for its deep colour and full-bodied character. As a dry wine with a healthy level of tannin, sipping it can leave your mouth feeling dry. Many enthusiasts who indulge in Cabernet Sauvignon often detect notes of green pepper, cassis, and dark fruits like cherries. Furthermore, hints of vanilla emerge from the wine’s aging process in oak barrels.

Beaverdale Kits

The Beaverdale wine kit is a premium quality product that doesn’t need any added sugar, as all the sugar content is within the grape juice. Everything you need to make this wine is included with the kit (except water). You can enjoy the wine when it is young; however, unlike some 3-week wine kits, it will continue to mature if you are patient..  This kit will make 5 gallons (22.5 litres) of wine, which will produce around 30 bottles of delicious wine.

What equipment do you need?

Basic 5 gallon winemaking equipment, for example, 5-gallon fermenter, bung, airlock and sterilizer. You will find these under the starter kit section of this website.

Food Pairing

Cabernet Sauvignon pairs exceptionally well with beef dishes, vegetarian moussaka, or lamb. Cabernet Sauvignon also pairs very well with salami and medium bodied cheeses.

Tips:

We recommend using a Vinbrite filter to clear the wine to a professional standard.
If you can leave it a few months to mature, the wine will greatly improve
