The Great British Brew Off 2026

A Celebration of British Brewing Heritage.

We’re inviting homebrewers from across the UK to take part in The Great British Brew Off 2026, a competition dedicated to showcasing the very best of British ingredients and brewing talent.

All entries must be brewed using 100% British malts and hops only, celebrating the quality and heritage of British grown brewing ingredients.

All competitors will receive a 10% discount code upon entry for ingredient purchases from Dark Rock Brewing, helping you create your competition entry.

Entry Deadline: All entries must be received no later than Wednesday 9th September 2026.

Entry Fee: £10

Your entry fee allows you to submit one beer into each category, meaning you may enter up to three beers in total.

Competition Categories

Light Beers

Examples include:

• Pale Ale
• Blonde Ale
• Session IPA
• Golden Ale
• Lager
• Pilsner

Amber Beers

Examples include:

• Bitter
• ESB
• Amber Ale
• Brown Ale
• Red Ale

Dark Beers

Examples include:

• Stout
• Porter
• Mild
• Black IPA

Each category will be judged separately.

Judging

All beers will be assessed by experienced CAMRA judges during a dedicated judging session held in our brewhouse on 12th September 2026.

Beers will be evaluated on style, aroma, flavour, appearance, balance, drinkability and overall quality.

Prizes

The winner of each category will receive:

• 25Kg Sack of Crisp Base Malt,
• 25Kg Sack of Thomas Fawcett Base Malt,
• 500g Selection of Charles Faram British Hop Pellets
• £25 Dark Rock Brewing Gift Voucher.
• Selection of merchandise from Muntons, Charles Faram, Crisp, Thomas Fawcett and Dark Rock (Cap, T-Shirt, Socks, Bar Blade, Beer Glass etc.)
• Each winning recipe will also be made up as a kit and added to the Dark Rock All Grain Beer Kit range.

How to Enter

1. Sign up today
2. Brew your beer using British malts and hops only.
3. Bottle your entry and clearly label each 500ml bottle with:

• Brewers name
• Ingredients used (malt & hop list)
• Beer Style
• ABV
• Competition category
• Contact details (phone number and email address)

The label should be attached to the bottle and completely covered in tape. Also a copy in a sealed bag in the box in case of breakages. Only cardboard packaging to be used so it can be recycled.

1. Deliver or send your bottles to Dark Rock Brewing (42-43 Zoar Street, Dudley, Lower Gornal, DY3 2PA) before the entry deadline.
