Harris Turbofine- Fast-Acting Spirit Wash Finings

Harris Turbofine is a specially formulated two-stage fining system designed to rapidly clear fermented spirit wash before distillation.

It works by helping to remove yeast cells and other suspended particles from the wash, leaving it cleaner and clearer before it goes into the still. Clearing the wash effectively can help reduce unwanted flavours and contribute to a cleaner-tasting final spirit.

Ideal for home distillers using sugar washes and other fermented spirit washes, Harris Turbofine is ready mixed and easy to use – simply add the finings to your completed spirit wash following the instructions below.

Directions for Use

1. Ensure fermentation is completely finished. The spirit wash should be fully fermented before adding the finings.
2. Stabilise and degas the wash. Stir the wash vigorously until there are no more bubbles appearing on the surface.
3. Add Stage 1 finings. Stir thoroughly and leave to stand for 1 hour.
4. Add Stage 2 finings. Stir gently for approximately 10 seconds.
5. Leave to clear. Place the wash somewhere cool, ideally around 15°C (59°F), and allow the finings to work.

Once the wash has cleared, it is ready for the next stage of your distilling process.

Storage

• No refrigeration required
• Store at room temperature between 5–30°C
• Ready mixed – simply add to your spirit wash
• Long shelf life when stored correctly

Suitable For

Harris Turbofine is suitable for treating up to 25 litres of spirit wash and is an ideal addition to your home distilling supplies when you want to achieve a cleaner, clearer wash before distillation.
