Session Series

The new Session Range from Dark Rock Brewing takes kit brewing to a new level. High quality hopped malt extracts are matched with carefully selected blends of the freshest dry hops, to produce delicious beers with enticing aromas. These kits are simple to make and fast to clear and mature. From fermenter to glass within a month, and results which are of commercial quality. The range follows the best styles from around the world and includes a powerful West Coast APA, which packs a hoppy punch from the latest crop of Citra and Simcoe hops. From down under, there are three carefully selected styles; a New Zealand Pilsner, New Zealand Riwaka Pale Ale, and an Aussie Gold Ale. They are true to the Southern Hemisphere styles. An English Amber Ale and Canadian Craft Ale provide a more traditional amber style, with hops that are true to the malts, to provide a balanced moreish taste. Finally, a newer style, which is set to be a trendsetter is the India Pale Lager. The IPL uses Motueka and Simcoe hops to produce a hybrid style which is a cross between a lager and IPA. The result is a refreshing lager with a delicate hoppy taste and aroma. Perfect for summer barbeques and to compliment curry evenings. These kits are dead easy to make and produce beer as good as you can buy in a pub for around 40p per pint. With value like that, what’s not to like.

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

To make this kit, you will either need 1Kg Brewing Sugar or 1Kg Lager Beer Kit Enhancer (Preferred). Later, you will also need sugar or carbonation drops to prime the keg or bottles for the secondary fermentation. We also advise using finings like Starbrite to ensure your lager clears quickly and the sediment sticks to the bottom on the bottle or keg.

This was my first dark rock kit .I’ve never been a fan of beer enhancers for the lack of depth etc in kits but I decided to use the recommended dark rock beer enhancer. I was worried it wouldn’t turn out very good but boy was I wrong. I even followed the instructions which we all know by now aren’t any cop on most kits but dark rock has hit the nail on the head the only thing I did different was the amount of boiling water added as the amount given was too much . I cold crashed Instead of using beer finings and the kit cleared beautifully. I left to mature for around 6-7 weeks as as you know never mature hoppy beers to long as the hops will mellow over time. The first bottle I tried had an explosion of flavours going off in my mouth right til the last swig .This has to be my favourite beer kit I’ve ever made and cannot wait to try the range plus part grain kits . Kudos dark rock for a wicked drink????

Brewed this with the Dark Rock beer enhancer and it is easily the best single tin kit I’ve tried, and better than 99% of the premium kits I’ve brewed. It’s just what it says it is. It’s dry, crisp, refreshing, fruity and hoppy. I have another couple from the range fermenting just now, and if they’re half as good as this, they’ll be excellent.
