SESSION SERIES
The Session Series from Dark Rock takes kit brewing to a new level. High quality hopped malt extracts are matched with carefully selected blends of the freshest dry hops, to produce delicious beers with enticing aromas. These kits are simple to make and fast to clear and mature. From fermenter to glass within a month, and results which are of commercial quality. The range follows the best styles from around the world and includes a powerful West Coast Pale Ale, which packs a hoppy punch from the latest crop of Citra and Simcoe hops. From down under, there are three carefully selected styles; a New Zealand Pilsner, Riwaka Pale Ale, New Zealand Bitter, Nectaron Pale Ale and an Aussie Gold Ale. They are true to the Southern Hemisphere styles. An English Amber Ale and Canadian Craft Ale provide a more traditional amber style, with hops that are true to the malts, to provide a balanced moreish taste. Finally, a newer style, which is set to be a trendsetter is the India Pale Lager. The IPL uses Motueka and Simcoe hops to produce a hybrid style which is a cross between a lager and IPA. The result is a refreshing lager with a delicate hoppy taste and aroma. Perfect for summer barbeques and to compliment curry evenings. These kits are easy to make and produce beer as good as you can buy in a pub for around 50p per pint.
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:
To make this kit, you will either need 1Kg Brewing Sugar or 1Kg Pale Beer Kit Enhancer (Preferred) . Later, you will also need sugar or carbonation drops to prime the keg or bottles for the secondary fermentation. We also advise using finings like Starbrite to ensure your lager clears quickly and the sediment sticks to the bottom on the bottle or keg.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?
Basic beer making equipment (5g fermenter, airlock, syphon tube with sediment trap, hydrometer, Suresan sanitiser, bottles or barrel). These are available under the starter kit section on this website.
TIPS
We strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit in order to achieve a commercial quality. Pure Brew is a professional beer enhancer. It feeds the yeast with essential nutrients, which supercharge the fermentation and support yeast development (even in limited oxygen conditions). Additionally, Pure Brew treats brewing water, eliminating problems caused by Chlorine and Chloramine, which can create a medicinal or, as it is sometimes referred to, a “homebrew” taste. Achieving optimum results in brewing critically depends on the condition of brewing water, but this important area is often overlooked. By using Pure Brew, you can effectively and easily condition brewing water, and maximise effective fermentation.
The addition of beer finings will improve the final quality of your beer. Finings such as Harris Beer Brite will help your beer to clear quickly and the sediment will be more likely to stay at the bottom of bottles or barrels. If you are using Corny Kegs then it is important to clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Beer Finings will promote a faster and more efficient fall out of sediment and haze particles prior to kegging. Harris Starbrite is a highly effective vegan-friendly beer fining, which is rapidly becoming a firm favourite with home brewers.

A delicious beer. The hops give the beer an unusual twist. The Idaho 7 hops are very nice.
Overall this is a class beer that costs very little to produce. If you bottle this beer and serve it chilled, you are in for a treat.
Just tried a bottle of summer krush i got at dark rock this week. As a lager drinker this is the best pale ale I have tasted, so impressed just brewed the kit I had purchased.
