Harris Hop Boost – 3 Dose

Hop Boost is added to beers to boost the overall flavour from the hops, giving it a more punchy aroma.

This is a food-grade enzyme that uses biotransformation to increase the complexity of hop aromas and flavours in home-crafted beer. It expresses more character from hops and enhances beer mouthfeel and drinkability, by reducing unpleasant, harsh bitterness. Hop boost also improves wort fermentability.

It is worth noting that Hop Boost doesn’t create new flavours—it releases bound aroma compounds already present in hops, malt and adjuncts. So it often makes a beer smell “more like itself,” just amplified.

Instructions for use

Simply whisk one phial into half a cupful of water and thoroughly mix. Add to the beer at the start of fermentation. Sufficient for 3 brews.

What it does in brewing

When added during fermentation, Hop Boost:

• Releases more hop aroma compounds (especially from dry hops)
• Enhances fruit and floral notes
• Improves overall aroma intensity and complexity
• Can increase perceived freshness in beers

When it’s used

Brewers usually add it:

• During active fermentation (at the start of fermentation or alongside dry hopping or fruit additions)
• Sometimes in high-aroma styles like NEIPAs, fruit beers, or experimental ales

Why use Hop Boost

Not all aroma compounds are immediately volatile or available. Hop Boost helps “unlock” hidden aromas that yeast and hops naturally contain but don’t fully release on their own. If you’re experimenting with fruit beers or hop-forward kits, it can make a noticeable difference—but it can also make a beer feel more intense than expected if overused.
