SG Wines Gold Chardonnay – 30 Bottle

Chardonnay comes from a green-skinned grape used to make white wine. Originally, it grew in the Burgundy region of eastern France, but today winemakers grow it all over the world, from England to New Zealand.
The Chardonnay grape has a very neutral flavor, which allows winemakers to create many different styles. For example, it can produce the crisp, mineral-driven wines of Chablis, France, or the fuller, oak-aged New World wines with tropical fruit notes. As it ripens, flavors often include citrus, peach, and melon, while in very warm regions, richer notes like fig, banana, and mango appear.
This kit makes 22.5 L of Chardonnay, which is about 30 bottles or 5 gallons of stunning white wine.
Although the wine is ready in around one week, we highly recommend leaving it to mature longer. This extra time helps develop more complex flavours and deepens the overall taste.
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
Included in the kit is a container of concentrated grape juice and sachets of yeast, stabiliser, finings and addback flavours – this improves taste & bouquet. You will need to add additional sugar (approx. 3.5Kg) and also add water.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?
This kit contains all the ingredients you’ll need, but you’ll also need the following equipment:
- Food grade fermenter of no less than 25 L capacity
- Bung
- Airlock
- Syphon kit
- Hydrometer
- Mixing spoon/paddle
- Sanitiser for the equipment
- 30 x 750 ml wine bottles with corks or stoppers
TIPS:
We also recommend the use of a Vinbrite filter to clear wine to a professional standard.
