Still Spirits T500 Boiler

Description

The T500 Boiler is the recommended boiler base for use with the T500 Reflux Condensers and Alembic Dome & Condenser. Made from 304 grade stainless steel, this boiler features dual element control switches, a stainless steel ball valve tap and an automatic reset switch. The dual element control switches provide more control during distillation – when both switches are in the ON position, the element will be supplied full power of 2200W. When one switch is in the OFF position, it will only consume 1100W of power. Adjusting the power can be useful in areas with warmer tap water for cooling and for use with the Alembic Pot Still.

If you want to produce a neutral spirit like vodka, and intend to add a flavour to the final spirit, then the column condenser is advised as it strips flavour. This is available in either stainless steel (standard) or copper. If you intend to make your own spirits from a grain mash, then the best option is to use the Alembic dome and condenser as this will not strip the flavour, but enhance it in the final spirit.

Is it Legal?
It is illegal to manufacture spirits in the UK without a distiller’s licence which is required under the provisions of section 12 of the Alcoholic Liquor Duties Act 1979 and this includes manufacture for “own/domestic use”.
