Winexpert Classic Altitude Red | 30 Bottle Wine Kit
The Winexpert Classic Altitude Red Wine Kit is an exciting, fruit-driven red wine that offers something a little different from traditional red wine varieties. Inspired by high altitude vineyards, this distinctive blend showcases the Bonarda grape, complemented by Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to create a beautifully balanced, medium-full-bodied red wine.
Expect generous aromas of dark fruits, followed by rich flavours of ripe plum, juicy cherry and dark berries. Subtle notes of vanilla, chocolate and gentle spice add depth and complexity, while smooth tannins and balanced acidity create a rounded, satisfying finish.
With an approximate alcohol content of 13% ABV, Altitude Red is a dry, medium-full-bodied red wine with medium oak character. It’s an excellent choice for those who enjoy rich, smooth red wines with plenty of fruit and a touch of warming spice.
Everything you need to make this delicious wine is included in the kit, apart from water and winemaking equipment. There’s no need to add extra sugar. Simply follow the instructions supplied and enjoy the satisfaction of making your own quality wine at home.
This Winexpert Classic wine kit makes 23 litres (5 gallons) of wine, producing approximately 30 bottles of delicious homemade red wine. Your wine can be ready to bottle after approximately 28 days, although we highly recommend allowing it some additional time to mature in the bottle to experience its full flavour and quality.
The Winexpert Classic range is extremely popular amongst home winemakers, offering an excellent balance of quality, flavour and value. If you’re looking for a rich, smooth red wine with an interesting blend of grape varieties, Altitude Red is well worth discovering.
What Makes Altitude Red Special?
Altitude Red showcases Bonarda, a distinctive red grape variety particularly associated with Argentina, where it thrives in high-altitude wine-growing regions.
Bonarda is renowned for producing generous, fruit-forward red wines with flavours of ripe cherry, plum and dark berries. In this blend, it is complemented by Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, bringing additional depth, structure and complexity.
The medium oak influence introduces complementary notes of vanilla, chocolate and gentle spice, while balanced acidity and smooth tannins help create a rounded, approachable wine.
The result is a beautifully layered red wine that combines rich fruit flavours with subtle oak character, making it an excellent choice for enjoying with food or simply relaxing with a glass.

Winexpert Classic Altitude Red – Our Tips
For the best results, make sure all your equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before starting. Follow the winemaking instructions supplied with the kit, paying particular attention to fermentation temperatures and specific gravity readings.
Although your wine can be ready to bottle in approximately four weeks, we recommend allowing it some additional time in the bottle before drinking. This gives the wine an opportunity to settle and allows the fruit, spice and oak characteristics to develop and integrate.
Altitude Red is particularly enjoyable alongside grilled meats, roast dinners, rich pasta dishes and mature cheeses.
