What is it?

Winexpert Classic Californian Pinot Noir is a superior wine kit which requires no added sugar (all of the sugar content is contained within the grape juice).  Everything you need to make this wine is included with the kit except water. This wine can be drunk after 28 days but we highly recommend that you leave it to mature for around 3 months to experience the quality, it will keep improving with age up to 12 months.  This kit will make 5 gallons (22.5 litres) of wine which will produce around  30 bottles of delicious wine.

What is Pinot Noir?

Pinot Noir is a French red wine grape variety. The name is derived from the French words meaning pine and black. The pine alludes to the grape variety having tightly clustered, pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit.

Pinot Noir is the world’s most popular light-bodied red wine. It is loved for its red fruit, cherry and raspberry flavours, flower and spice aromas that are accentuated by a long, smooth finish. Pinot Noir is light to medium bodied, not too dry but certainly not sweet. This is why it is a favourite all over the world.

What equipment do you need?

Basic 5 gallon winemaking equipment, for example, a plastic bucket or fermenter, bung, airlock and sterilizer. You will find these under the starter kit section of this website

Food Pairing

Pinot Noir pairs well with salmon and other fatty fishes, roasted chicken or pasta dishes. It is well matched with delicately, flavoured cheeses like Gruyere and Brie.

We recommend using a Vinbrite filter to clear the wine to a professional standard.
