Dark Rock Session Series English Amber Ale

Dark Rock Session Series English Amber AleA quintessential British Amber Ale. The well-balanced maltiness is complemented by the addition of English First Gold hops. Close your eyes, take in the aroma and warming flavours, and you will be transported to the hop fields of Kent. You will need to add either a Dark Rock Amber Ale Beer Kit Enhancer (recommended) or 1Kg Brewing Sugar to make this kit.

Session Series

The new Session Range from Dark Rock Brewing takes kit brewing to a new level. High quality hopped malt extracts are matched with carefully selected blends of the freshest dry hops, to produce delicious beers with enticing aromas. These kits are simple to make and fast to clear and mature. From fermenter to glass within a month, and results which are of commercial quality. The range follows the best styles from around the world and includes a powerful West Coast APA, which packs a hoppy punch from the latest crop of Citra and Simcoe hops. From down under, there are three carefully selected styles; a New Zealand Pilsner, New Zealand Riwaka Pale Ale, and an Aussie Gold Ale. They are true to the Southern Hemisphere styles. An English Amber Ale and Canadian Craft Ale provide a more traditional amber style, with hops that are true to the malts, to provide a balanced moreish taste. Finally, a newer style, which is set to be a trendsetter is the India Pale Lager. The IPL uses Motueka and Simcoe hops to produce a hybrid style which is a cross between a lager and IPA. The result is a refreshing lager with a delicate hoppy taste and aroma. Perfect for summer barbeques and to compliment curry evenings. These kits are dead easy to make and produce beer as good as you can buy in a pub for around 40p per pint. With value like that, what’s not to like.

Basic beer making equipment (5g fermenter, airlock, syphon tube with sediment trap, hydrometer, Suresan sanitiser, bottles or barrel). These are available under the starter kit section on this website.

TIPS

Harris Pure Brew - 5 DoseWe strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit in order to achieve a commercial quality. Pure Brew is a professional beer enhancer. It feeds the yeast with essential nutrients, which supercharge the fermentation and support yeast development (even in limited oxygen conditions). Additionally, Pure Brew treats brewing water, eliminating problems caused by Chlorine and Chloramine, which can create a medicinal or, as it is sometimes referred to, a “homebrew” taste. Achieving optimum results in brewing critically depends on the condition of brewing water, but this important area is often overlooked. By using Pure Brew, you can effectively and easily condition brewing water, and maximise effective fermentation.

The addition of beer finings will improve the final quality of your beer. Finings such as Harris Beer Brite will help your beer to clear quickly and the sediment will be more likely to stay at the bottom of bottles or barrels. If you are using Corny Kegs then it is important to clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Beer Finings will promote a faster and more efficient fall out of sediment and haze particles prior to kegging. Harris Starbrite is a highly effective vegan-friendly beer fining, which is rapidly becoming a firm favourite with home brewers.

This is what it says it is. A beautiful English style beer. Crisp malty rewarding beer. The Golding hops really compliment this beer.

If you choose this kit you will not be disappointed.

This was the first kit I’ve done. Making the brew was easy and the instructions were clear to follow.

Bottles and started drinking 2 Wells after bottling. Tastes great, a really nice beer.

Great traditional English beer. I just wanted to brew a good old English ale and this has certainly hit the spot. Easy to follow and easy to brew. Great flavour refreshing session beer. I watched a YouTube vid by the Dog and Partridge who didn’t rate ….well how wrong they were. Going to do another for my Christmas beer its that good
