Festival American IPA Beer Kit

Festival American IPAFestival American IPA is a high-quality premium homebrew beer kit. The box includes everything you need to brew a superb, vibrant gold IPA (except water). Festival American IPA provides a big hit of citrus and tropical fruits, with underlying earthy and floral hop notes from a combination of Centennial, Citra and Motueka hops balancing a light, fresh malt flavour with a satisfying bitterness.

A 100g sachet of Centennial, Citra, and Motueka hop pellets is included for dry hopping, helping you achieve a bold, fresh hop aroma in your finished beer. The kit also comes with a nylon straining bag, designed to fit over the end of your syphon sediment trap. This helps prevent hop debris (known as trub) from transferring into your bottles or barrel, resulting in a cleaner final brew. In addition, a 1kg sachet of priming sugar is supplied to ensure proper carbonation and conditioning in both bottles and pressure barrels.

The kit produces a target alcohol content of 5.6% ABV (approx). The colour is vibrant gold with a white head. The Festival American IPA kit contains high-quality ingredients and easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Each kit makes 40 pints of premium ale

What Is IPA

IPA stands for India Pale Ale. It originated during the time when Britain ruled the Indian Empire. Beer shipped over long distances often spoiled due to heat, delays, and long travel times, which made standard beers unsuitable for export. To solve this, brewers developed stronger ales with a higher alcohol content and increased hop levels. These beers were more stable during transport, and the IPA style was born.

IPA Characteristics

Modern IPAs are defined by their strong hop profile. Brewers use different hop varieties at various stages of the brewing process to influence Flavour, Aroma and Bitterness. As a result, IPAs often feature bold aromas such as citrus, pine, floral notes, and tropical fruit—particularly when American hops are used. IPA has also become especially popular in modern craft beer culture, particularly among drinkers who enjoy fresh, cold keg-served beer. A newer classification, “Juicy Hazy IPA, has been introduced to describe New England IPAs (NEIPAs). These beers are unfiltered, naturally cloudy, and packed with intense tropical hop flavours.

Today, IPA is one of the most popular beer styles in the world. With so many variations and flavour profiles, the IPA category offers huge variety and experimentation opportunities for both commercial breweries and home brewers alike.

Tips

Harris Pure Brew - 5 Dose

We strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit to achieve commercial-quality beer. Pure Brew acts as a professional beer enhancer and improves fermentation performance. It feeds yeast essential nutrients and supports strong fermentation, even in low oxygen conditions. Additionally, it treats brewing water and removes chlorine and chloramine. These compounds can cause unwanted “homebrew” flavours in the finished beer. Brewing water quality plays a key role in final beer quality. However, many homebrewers often overlook this important factor. Pure Brew helps you easily condition water and improve fermentation results.

Furthermore, beer finings improve clarity and final presentation. Harris Beer Brite clears beer quickly and helps sediment settle at the bottom. This works especially well for bottles and barrels after fermentation. If you use Corny Kegs, clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Finings help sediment and haze particles drop out more efficiently before packaging. Harris Starbrite provides a highly effective vegan-friendly fining option. As a result, homebrewers achieve clearer, better-looking, and better-tasting beer.
