Simply Mild is a smooth dark malty ale with hints of stone fruit and raisins, soft bitterness with a lingering sweetness with hints of caramel.

This Kit Contains 1.8kg Malt extract and produces 40 Pints (23 Litres) of Mild at a fraction of commercial cost and is the perfect kit for a beginner. Basic brewing equipment is required and can be found under the ‘Starter Kits’ section of our website.

Additional Ingredients Required

To make this kit, you will either need 1Kg Brewing Sugar or 1Kg Beer Kit Enhancer (Preferred). Later, you will also need sugar or Brew Fizz carbonation drops to prime the keg or bottles for the secondary fermentation.

What Equipment Do You Need?

Basic beer making equipment (5 gallon fermenter, airlock, syphon tube with sediment trap, hydrometer, Suresan sanitiser, bottles or barrel). These are available under the starter kit section on this website.

Brewing Tips

For the best results, use Pure Brew with this kit. It enhances fermentation by feeding the yeast with vital nutrients and conditions your brewing water by removing Chlorine and Chloramine, which can cause “homebrew” flavours. The result is a cleaner, more professional-quality beer.

To improve clarity, add beer finings. Harris Beer Brite helps your beer clear quickly and keeps sediment at the bottom of bottles or barrels, while Harris Starbrite offers a highly effective vegan-friendly option. Clearer beer looks better, tastes cleaner, and is ideal for kegging.
