Description
A Tribute to London Pride | Part Grain Beer Kit
Dark Rock Tribute to London Pride is a tawny-coloured ale that honours one of the UK’s favourite beers. London Pride has notes of sweet raisin, biscuit, and dried fruit from the Crystal malt, while fresh, piney herbs emanate from the hops. Rich, smooth, and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with a beautifully balanced bitterness. This kit produces 40 pints at 4.6% ABV.
The Commercial Brewery
Fuller’s Brewery (Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC) is an independent family regional brewery founded in 1845 in Chiswick, West London. John Fuller’s Griffin Brewery dates from 1816; in 1845, his son, John Bird Fuller was joined by Henry Smith and John Turner to give the company it’s full name. Beer has been brewed on fuller’s historic Griffin Brewery site in Chiswick since the seventeenth century. Fuller’s is well known as the brewer of London Pride and other award-winning ales such as Chiswick Bitter, ESB and 1845. As well as its range of beers, The Griffin Brewery, on the A4 in Chiswick, is famous for having the oldest wisteria plant in the UK, planted in the early 19th century.
Tribute Series
The Dark Rock Tribute range allows you to produce beers which mirror the classic commercial favourites. We carefully selected and matched quality hops, malts, and yeast to provide you with the closest possible result. Each brewery will have unique factors such as water source and yeast type; therefore, Tribute beers are not intended to be clones. We recommend you have fun by comparing the commercial beer against your own to see how close you can get.
Commercial brewers with extensive knowledge and a passion for craft beers and real ales carefully research and develop each Dark Rock kit. Dark Rock Kits enable you to produce commercial quality beers, all within the comfort of your own home. We add malts and hops at controlled stages of the brewing process to create rich aromas and depths of flavour that are not only stunning but also simply unparalleled.
Why Choose Dark Rock Part Grain Beer Kits?
Dark Rock Part Grain Beer Kits strike the perfect balance between ease and authenticity, making them the ideal choice for anyone who wants to brew exceptional beer at home without jumping straight into All Grain Brewing. Whether you’re just starting out or already an experienced brewer, these kits help you produce commercial-quality, flavour-packed beer with confidence.
Unlike basic extract kits, these take your brewing to the next level by combining traditional extract methods with a simple steeping and boiling process. Using carefully selected malt grains and hops, you’ll unlock richer, more complex flavours and aromas—giving you far greater creative control over your brew. All you need is standard home brewing equipment, plus a 12-litre pan and a thermometer (see full equipment list below), making it an easy upgrade from standard extract kits.
Each kit comes with 3kg of premium malt extract, a freshly packed blend of grains, and top-quality hops sourced from the best producers worldwide. We weigh and pack every ingredient fresh to order, while hops are vacuum sealed in nitrogen-flushed bags to lock in their full character and freshness.
To make your brewing journey even smoother, we provide expert guidance and a wide variety of beer styles to explore—from hazy pale ales and rich stouts to crisp pilsners. With Dark Rock Part Grain Kits, you get everything you need to create truly exceptional beer at home.

Brewers Tips
This kit includes Pure Brew, a professional enhancer that boosts fermentation and treats brewing water. It feeds yeast with vital nutrients, while removing Chlorine and Chloramine, which can cause off-flavours. Since water quality is key to great beer, we strongly recommend using Pure Brew in every brew for consistently better results.
You’ll also get Harris Starbrite finings, a vegan-friendly clarifier that helps your beer clear quickly and encourages sediment to settle. This is especially useful if you’re kegging, as it reduces the risk of haze and sediment transfer.
To make brewing even easier, we’ve included a muslin grain bag and hop t-bag. For a more advanced setup, consider adding a metal hop spider. It offers better hop circulation during the boil, is easy to clean, and can be reused again and again.

I started this brew just before Christmas and I am very pleased with the results. It was ready to drink from the barrel on Christmas Eve and I m still enjoying it now in early January. Yes it does taste rather like London Pride and is very smooth.
The preparation was more than your usual cheap brew, but worth the effort and the handy grain bag can be reused for straining fruit while wine making.
You will need a 15 litre saucepan and the primary fermentation was VERY vigorous, escaping from my 5 gallon bucket. Next time I’m using an over sized wine fermenter with airlock.
This is a superb kit! Easy to make, the hardest part was waiting for it to finish so I could try some! This really does taste fantastic and incredibly similar to London Pride. It has a great mouthfeel compared to tinned kits, just like you get in your local!
My first part grain kit I’ve done and the results are superb, great taste, quite malty and fruity and super clear. According to my dad just like the real thing! Really looking forward to trying the other kits in the part grain range, well done Dark Rock!
Actually purchased this by mistake as I wanted the all grain version!
Anyhow, I brewed it, like you do.
Generally followed the instructions, but as I have a full grain brewing setup, I adapted it to suit.
Was surprised that the SG was 1.052 (temp corrected), but no complaints with that.
OK, the taste test. Well as a huge fan of Fullers London Pride, was a bit disappointed with the outcome as for me, its not a good likeness.
However, this is a stunningly good ale, really nice hoppy/honey nose with a really nice dry finish, more akin to Marstons Pedigree.
Comparing this side by side with genuine Courage Directors draught (which I happen to have a barrel of!), the Dark Rock brew is superior in every way!
I must in future have a go at the all grain version…
… may even try one or two of the others in the tribute range ????????????
Cheers!
Fantastic Beer, and easy to follow kit!
