Description
St Peters Cream Stout Kit
This cream stout is a rich black velvet colour, with notes of coffee and vanilla on the nose and a rich creamy chocolate flavour, a smooth mouth feel together with a satisfying bittersweet aftertaste. This strong, dark and aromatic cream stout beer kit is based on the St Peters Cream Stout which won a Silver Medal at The International Beer Challenge 2016, and also won the ‘Country Winner’ at The World Beer Awards 2016 and GOLD at the Global Beer Masters in 2016!
This 3kg beer kit makes 36 pints of smooth cream stout at around 5% ABV. Progress, Fuggles and Challenger hops plus a blend of 5 different local malts create an aromatic, strong, dark chocolate cream stout with a satisfying bittersweet aftertaste.
There are five beer kits in the St Peters Brewery range, This Cream Stout compliments the Golden Ale, Honey Porter, India Pale Ale and Ruby Red Ale. This kit has been approved by the head brewer at the Suffolk based brewery. St Peters Brewery is based in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The brewery was built in 1996 and is housed in an attractive range of agricultural buildings adjacent to St Peter’s Hall.
Do you need any other ingredients?
This is an all malt beer kit, and you do not need any additional sugar or beer kit enhancer to make the kit. However, you will need some sugar or carbonation drops to prime the bottles or keg for a secondary fermentation.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?
Basic beer making equipment (5g fermenter, airlock, syphon tube with sediment trap, hydrometer, Suresan sanitiser, bottles or barrel). These are available under the starter kit section on this website.
TIPS

We strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit to achieve commercial-quality beer. Pure Brew acts as a professional beer enhancer and improves fermentation performance. It feeds yeast essential nutrients and supports strong fermentation, even in low oxygen conditions. Additionally, it treats brewing water and removes chlorine and chloramine. These compounds can cause unwanted “homebrew” flavours in the finished beer. Brewing water quality plays a key role in final beer quality. However, many homebrewers often overlook this important factor. Pure Brew helps you easily condition water and improve fermentation results.
Furthermore, beer finings improve clarity and final presentation. Harris Beer Brite clears beer quickly and helps sediment settle at the bottom. This works especially well for bottles and barrels after fermentation. If you use Corny Kegs, clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Finings help sediment and haze particles drop out more efficiently before packaging. Harris Starbrite provides a highly effective vegan-friendly fining option. As a result, homebrewers achieve clearer, better-looking, and better-tasting beer.

Pleasantly surprised by this stout although powdered hops, not pellets, were a bit strange. Taste as described with a good bitter finish.
