This Irish Stout Beer Kit is the closest I’ve come to recreating a proper pint of Guinness at home. It’s incredibly easy to brew, and the results are outstanding.
I keg most of the batch in a Corny keg and bottle the rest to enjoy later. After around three weeks conditioning in the kegerator and served through a stout tap with a creamer spout, the beer is simply exceptional. In my opinion and according to all of my drinking mates, it’s better than the draught Guinness served in most pubs.
One thing worth mentioning is the water I brew with. It comes from an artisan well that’s been professionally tested and is almost pure water with very little mineral content. Whether that’s the secret or not, I couldn’t say, but the finished beer is consistently fantastic.
This kit has become a permanent fixture in my brewing rotation. Poured ice cold from the kegerator on a warm summer’s day, it’s hard to beat. If you’re looking for a rich, creamy, authentic Irish stout, this kit is well worth trying.
Well worth leaving for at least 6 weeks in the keg for the full flavours to develop. Pleasant mouth feel and taste very close to the old Guinness.
Certainly benefitted from being left to mature for 6 weeks. A smooth chocolate/coffee tasting stout. Well worth brewing.
This is a lovely and satisfying stout. Very nice tasting and easy to drink it went down very well.
This has come out so well. Utterly impressed, as are anyone else who (I let) try it. I used a dark brown sugar for priming which gave it a lovely sweet undertone.
