Description
Dark Rock Session Series New Zealand Draught (Bitter) Kit
Think All Blacks, think New Zealand Draught! This is a lightly hopped Amber beer in the traditional New Zealand Draught style. Motueka and Riwaka hops give this beer a distinctive, delicious aroma and flavour, which is a firm favourite in the Southern Hemisphere.
Session Series
The new Session Range from Dark Rock Brewing takes kit brewing to a new level. High quality hopped malt extracts are matched with carefully selected blends of the freshest dry hops, to produce delicious beers with enticing aromas. These kits are simple to make and fast to clear and mature. From fermenter to glass within a month, and results which are of commercial quality. The range follows the best styles from around the world and includes a powerful West Coast APA, which packs a hoppy punch from the latest crop of Citra and Simcoe hops. From down under, there are three carefully selected styles; a New Zealand Pilsner, New Zealand Riwaka Pale Ale, and an Aussie Gold Ale. They are true to the Southern Hemisphere styles. An English Amber Ale and Canadian Craft Ale provide a more traditional amber style, with hops that are true to the malts, to provide a balanced moreish taste. Finally, a newer style, which is set to be a trendsetter is the India Pale Lager. The IPL uses Motueka and Simcoe hops to produce a hybrid style which is a cross between a lager and IPA. The result is a refreshing lager with a delicate hoppy taste and aroma. Perfect for summer barbeques and to compliment curry evenings. These kits are dead easy to make and produce beer as good as you can buy in a pub for around 40p per pint. With value like that, what’s not to like.
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:
To make this kit, you will either need 1Kg Brewing Sugar or 1Kg Amber Beer Kit Enhancer (Preferred). Later, you will also need sugar or carbonation drops to prime the keg or bottles for the secondary fermentation. We also advise using finings like Starbrite to ensure your lager clears quickly and the sediment sticks to the bottom on the bottle or keg.

2 reviews for Dark Rock | Session New Zealand Bitter | Extract Beer Kit
I didn’t know what to expect from this type of beer. It’s a deep amber but quite light when drunk. It’s not as malty/biscuity as British ale although looks the same but then not as hoppy as an ipa but has more to it than a lager.
For a one tin kit it’s really good, like the other dark rock kits it’s good value albeit with the extra beer enhancer pack needed. I used pure brew and finings which gives a more muted home brew twang.
Really nice beer looks like a bitter but tastes really smooth malty & hoppy if you like pale ales you’ll like this really good on keg quite unusual style but think I’d get this kit again ????
