I’ve brewed this beer for years. I decided to make it a little different. I brewed this kit with 500g of dried malt extract and 450g of golden syrup.

The result was an excellent beer. Very much like the great Holdens bitter.

I will definitely be brewing this kit again using the same recipe.

Good kit, this was my first one. Primary fermentation went well, tastes good, secondary fermentation taking place now in bottles. looking forward to opening one!

If you can make a cup of tea you can make this one……… and its always a winner. An easy kit that can be brewed to your own strength with a lovely taste.

Dextrose for the main brew an Castor sugar for the secondary …. nice.

Leave the bottles for a month and you have really got a pub pint.

The bonus is – if you pour into a nice pitcher jug and you er ..fall asleep .., the beer is still fresh the next day !

A well rounded traditional bitter. The balance between the malt and hops is spot on.

Been brewing and drinking this kit for over 35 years.

Used 1kg of enhancer and Harris water treatment and yeast food. Smooth and finely beaded after 12 weeks and worth the patience. Malty yet bitter enough though would benefit from moderate dry hopping to freshen up.
