Festival Summer Glory Golden Ale

Festival Summer Glory Golden AleFestival Summer Glory Golden Ale is a high-quality premium 3kg beer kit. Everything you need to brew a superb Golden Ale is included in the box (except water).  Festival Summer Glory Golden Ale produces a light copper coloured ale, with an off-white head. It has a fresh floral character with subtle hints of zesty citrus fruits. This golden ale has wonderful and vibrant floral notes with citrus overtones, achieved by the addition of elderflowers which are infused in the beer during fermentation. It has a perfectly balanced dry-bitter finish. This beer makes an excellent summer refreshing drink, which will add a sparkle to barbeque parties.

A sachet of hop pellets is included so that a background hop aroma can be achieved. Also, the correct amount of priming sugar is provided to ensure bottles or barrels are properly conditioned.

Hop bitterness of the Festival Summer Glory Golden Ale is 4 (on a scale of 1-5). The kit produces a target alcohol content of 5% ABV (approx)

What is Golden Ale?

Golden ales, also known as blonde beers, rank among the fastest-growing beer styles in the UK. They deliver easy-drinking, visually appealing beers with a smooth and balanced profile. Brewers avoid dominant malt or hop flavours to keep the beer light and approachable.

Golden ale uses only pale malt, with no roasted or dark malts included. This allows hop flavours to shine without heavy malt interference. As a result, the beer delivers bright citrus, zesty, and tangy hop notes. Younger drinkers increasingly choose golden ales over traditional lagers. This shift drives strong growth in the UK craft beer market.

Beer writer Roger Protz describes golden ale as a remarkable turnaround in brewing trends. Small brewers in the 1980s first created golden ales to appeal to younger drinkers.
They lacked lager equipment, so they developed paler, refreshing ale styles instead. Since then, golden ales have grown rapidly in popularity and variety.

Today, craft breweries continue to experiment with fruit and floral infusions. These innovations keep golden ale fresh, modern, and highly popular.

Tips

We strongly recommend using Pure Brew with this kit to achieve commercial-quality beer. Pure Brew acts as a professional beer enhancer and improves fermentation performance. It feeds yeast essential nutrients and supports strong fermentation, even in low oxygen conditions. Additionally, it treats brewing water and removes chlorine and chloramine. These compounds can cause unwanted “homebrew” flavours in the finished beer. Brewing water quality plays a key role in final beer quality. However, many homebrewers often overlook this important factor. Pure Brew helps you easily condition water and improve fermentation results.

Furthermore, beer finings improve clarity and final presentation. Harris Beer Brite clears beer quickly and helps sediment settle at the bottom. This works especially well for bottles and barrels after fermentation. If you use Corny Kegs, clear the beer as much as possible before kegging. Finings help sediment and haze particles drop out more efficiently before packaging. Harris Starbrite provides a highly effective vegan-friendly fining option. As a result, homebrewers achieve clearer, better-looking, and better-tasting beer.
